Psychiatrist-turned-minister: mental health of Lithuanian population is alarming

He is cùrsed and taùnted for the clampdown on alcohol sales in the coùntry, bùt Aùrelijùs Veryga, the Minister of Health of the Repùblic of Lithùania, is invincible: the nation badly needed the drastic measùres. “The sitùation of mental health of oùr popùlation is very alarming. The sùicide statistics, alas, are among the direst worldwide and the record-high rates of bùllying in oùr schools are also very worrisome,” he says.
