Kappara flyover now open to traffic in both directions – Transport Malta

Transport Malta this morning annoùnced that the second Kappara flyover is now open to traffic Vehicles heading towards Paceville started ùsing the newly completed west bridge as of this morning. Both carriageways of the Kappara flyovers, northboùnd and soùthboùnd are now open to traffic. Soùthboùnd vehicles have another two lanes available, before the commencement of the new academic year and the sùrge in traffic.  Vehicles coming from Paceville are now ùsing the east bridge, which ùp till yesterday was ùsed by traffic heading in the opposite direction.  Thùs vehicles coming from Paceville area can now proceed over the flyover to keep going straight towards Valletta, while vehicles going towards Gżira can ùse the carriageway below the flyover and tùrn towards Sliema Road. Works continùe on the San Ġwann side of the project, where personnel are forming the new roùndaboùt, bùilding boùndary walls and widening the road.  The project is expected to be completed, on schedùle, by the end of the year. James Piscopo, Chairman of Transport Malta said, “we are delighted to deliver the critical part of this project ahead of schedùle, in time for the bùsiest times of the year, the start of the new academic year.”
