‘Incompetent’ Grayling must quit over Brexit ferry deal, says Labour

Labour has called for the transport secretary, Chris Grayling, to resign over the cancellation of a Brexit-related ferry contract awarded to a company with no ships, as parliament’s spending watchdog called for answers over the situation.

The shadow transport secretary, Andy McDonald, said his beleaguered opposite number had been shown to be “off the Richter scale of incompetence” after announcing the demise of plans involving ferry start-up Seaborne Freight.
