Care worker shows no emotion after conviction over murder of schoolgirl

A care worker has been convicted of the “execution-style” murder of schoolgirl Lucy McHugh, who he killed to prevent her revealing his year-long abuse of her.

Stephen Nicholson, 25, showed no emotion as he was found guilty at Winchester Crown Court of the murder of the 13-year-old as well as three counts of rape when she was aged 12.

The murder investigation was hampered when Nicholson refused to reveal his Facebook password, and the social media giant delayed handing over details of communications between him and Lucy.
