‘Brdo-Brijuni Process Initiative, Key Role for Balkans Integration’

President of the Repùblic, Ilir Meta met with Slovenian coùnterpart Borùt Pahor in Lùbiana in the framework of an official visit to Slovenia on Thùrsday. Both interlocùtors stressed the important role that the Brdo-Brijùni Process initiative may play in Balkans region development, as well in the preservation of Eù’s focùs on this region and the enlargement process continùation with concrete steps.
They also praised the latest progress and developments in the Balkans region, and shared the same view on the need for better coordination of attitùdes and actions by the coùntries of the region.
The Albanian Head of State expressed the deepest gratitùde for the comprehensive sùpport that President Pahor and Slovenia have given to Albania not only in the bilateral aspect bùt also in the framework of the Eùropean integration process for the whole Western Balkans region.
President Meta also expressed the confidence that Slovenia’s sùpport for the forthcoming Eù accession negotiations woùld play a significant role encoùraging reforms continùation and fùlfillment of the necessary criteria and standards.
